Girl running through Electroshock Therapy

It’s nearly 2019. You know what that means? New year, new Tough Mudder Season.

We have announced 2019’s new or updated obstacles that will be making appearances around the world in our Tough Mudder 2019 obstacle unveil. This included Mudderhorn, The Gauntlet and Black Widow. Mudderhorn is the tallest obstacle ever, and the Gauntlet is the longest. Excited yet? Because we are.

But it doesn’t just end there. There’s more new stuff.

1. The Tough Mudder Classic Finisher Obstacle in 2019 will be… Electroshock

Mudder Nation spoke, we listened. You all missed the thrill of 10,000 volts of electricity before receiving your hard-earned headband.

We were more than happy to oblige. We love watching all you Mudders jump, jerk and drop to the mud.

Electroshock Therapy Will Return as the Tough Mudder Classic 2019 finisher obstacle, and will be optional.

2. Level Up Lanes are Coming

In 2019, Tough Mudder Classic Obstacles will have three levels of difficulty. That’s right, choose your challenge, pick your lane. The rest is up to you and your team.

Whether it’s your first Tough Mudder and you’re feeling nervous, or you’re a seasoned Legionnaire looking for a challenge, there is an option for you.

Keep an eye out over the next few months to see where the level up obstacles will feature. We will be revealing which obstacles will feature this new design and providing training tips for each level.

3. There will be more obstacles on course than ever before

Every Tough Mudder Classic course will feature 25 obstacles along a 1-loop course.

Expect some surprises on course, it won’t be what you’re used to.

4. The 5k Will be Muddy AF

It’s not just the Classic getting the good stuff. Ireland’s Tough Mudder 5k debut will be one to remember.

5. This isn’t the end of Innovation for 2019

We held obstacle Beta Testing in Europe, and have a ton of new obstacle ideas. Throughout the season, we might drop new obstacles, fresh from testing.

Stay tuned, Mudders.
